Vladimir Putin crony Dmitry Medvedev said in a blistering statement that western leaders were ‘hardcore idiots and clinical b******s’ who would drag the world into a new conflict

Vladimir Putin’s Russian predecessor has warned that the globe is hurtling towards a World War 3 that would make the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like “child’s play”.

Dmitry Medvedev, a longtime Putin crony whose partnership with the Russian despot has allowed him to stay in power since 2008, has hit out against Donald Trump and his Iranian assault. Now deputy chairman of Russia’s security council, the official, who is well-known for his inflammatory statements, said the US President’s “insane course of criminal regime change” would lead to all-out war.

He added after suggesting Iran could outlast an American assault that Trump had made a “gross mistake” by launching the operation he claimed was mean to maintain “global dominance”.

Speaking to the TASS news agency, he said: “This is a war of the US and its allies for maintaining global dominance. The pigs don’t want to part with the trough.” When asked whether World War 3 was on the horizon, he added that one would “undoubtedly begin” if Trump continues on his current path.

He said: “If Trump continues his insane course of criminal regime change, it will undoubtedly begin. And any event could be the trigger. Any event.”

Medvedev went on to call western leaders “hardcore idiots and clinical b******s” before claiming the US was afraid of Russia and “knows the price of a nuclear conflict”. He then went on to say his predicted nuclear conflict would make the nuclear leg of its predecessor look like “child’s play in the sandbox”.

He said: “In the event of its occurrence, Hiroshima and Nagasaki will be child’s play in the sandbox [sandpit].” The Kremlin has also issued its own statement on the conflict on similar, but more restrained lines.

Russian top brass said it would result in a “humanitarian, economic and possibly radiological catastrophe” in the region, and accused both the US and Israel of “plunging the Middle East into an abyss of uncontrolled escalation”. The statement from the nation’s foreign ministry added that responsibility for the potentially devastating consequences of the war would lie on the two allies.

The ministry spokesperson said: “Responsibility for the negative consequences of this manmade crisis, including an unpredictable chain reaction and spiraling violence, lies entirely with them.”

Iran is a key ally to Russia in both an economic and military sense, with both nations sharing international quasi-pariah status due to western sanctions. The nation under the now killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was providing Putin with battlefield munitions, primarily Shahed drones, to aid its illegal and murderous invasion of Ukraine.

Stunningly, Putin in his first comments following the Ayatollah’s death, claimed the killing was “a murder committed in cynical violation of all norms of human morality and international law”.
