Shocking footage has been shared showing the moment a toddler was snatched out of her mother’s hands inside a supermarket. The CCTV clips show a one-year-old being grabbed by an alleged homeless man according to reports.

The incident took place at a store in Italy, with the man sweeping the girl into his hands as soon as he enters through the automatic doors, the Sun reported.

The clip then shows the mother and man struggle as he attempts to pull her daughter away from her.

The family appeared to be leaving the shop when the terrifying attempted kidnapping took place.

The daughter can be seen being pulled in both directions by her mother and the stranger as her father lets go of the trolley to intervene.

The clip continues to show security guards and members of the public attempting to stop the Romanian man and hold him down.

Police were called to the scene and helped to secure the child before taking the man to the police station.

The toddler was taken to hospital following the ordeal and doctors say she suffered a fractured femur as a result of the incident.

The man was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping of a child under 14 and aggravated assault. The Sun claim he is currently in prison awaiting validation of his arrest.
