Political leaders expressed deep grief over the demise of Soundararajan (90), the head priest of the renowned Chilkur Balaji Temple in Telangana.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his condolences, stating that Soundararajan’s lifelong efforts to protect temple traditions and autonomy would remain unforgettable. He described his spiritual services as exemplary and said his passing was an irreparable loss to the spiritual community. The Chief Minister prayed for peace to the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members.
YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed profound sorrow over the head priest’s demise. He noted that Soundararajan had served Lord Balaji with dedication for decades and earned recognition as a revered spiritual figure who upheld the faith of devotees. He highlighted the priest’s significant role in safeguarding temple traditions, guiding devotees spiritually, and contributing to temple administration.
Describing his death as a great loss to the spiritual fraternity, he extended his deepest condolences to the family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
