The Brit was on holiday with his wife and was staying in the tourist resort of Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife when he vanished without a phone, passport or money
A British tourist has vanished in Tenerife just hours after landing on the island with his wife and going out for an early-morning walk.
His disappearance has been reported to police and his family are said to be very “worried” saying it is totally out of character for him. He is understood to have no phone or passport with him, and very little, if any money.
The missing man, identified so far only by his first name of Michael, is in his early 60s and was staying in an apartment in the tourist resort of Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife.
A Facebook group dedicated to assisting missing people’s cases in Tenerife posted last night in English and Spanish about the disappearance. It said: “Missing in Los Cristianos in an all-blue outfit, Michael is in his early sixties and had gone out for an early morning walk today, Sunday 15th March at around 8am.

British expats and other well-wishers responded last night by offering their support. One said: “I hope he’s found safe and well.”
Carol Burton added: “Hope he’s found soon, I know you’ve said that hospitals have been checked but worth checking again in case he’s had a fall and bumped his head and is concussed and can’t remember anything, worrying time for you all.”
Deborah Clarke-Topper, who runs Missing Persons Tenerife, urged people: “As a matter of safety, please don’t go hunting in ravines, or put yourself at risk, just keep an eye out in case you happen to see him sitting somewhere or wandering about.”
