Gus Lamont disappeared from his family’s property in a remote part of Australia almost six months ago and authorities have continued the search for the golden-haired boy
The search for a missing four-year-old in a remote part of Australia has resume after his disappearance almost six months ago.
Police swarmed the remote South Australian property on Wednesday, March 11. Gus Lamont was last seen on the Oak Park Station on September 27, 2025, sparking several large-scale searches across the property.
A police spokesman said the team would be “ searching several locations on the property for evidence in the case”.

Earlier this month, police announced they had identified a suspect believed to be known to the young boy and the incident was escalated to a major crime. The suspect is not one of Gus’s parents.
Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said at the time of the announcement that “discrepancies” and “inconsistencies” in the information provided by some of the child’s family members.
“As a result of these inconsistencies, and investigations into them, a person who resides at Oak Park Station has withdrawn their support for the police and is no longer co-operating with us,” Superintendent Fielke stated.
Superintendent Fielke said that authorities would be returning to the property.
They did so on Wednesday.
Investigators do not believe Gus is still alive.
One hypothesis was focussed on the possibility of Gus wandering away from Oak Park Station and getting disorientated, but this has been ruled out, the Daily Express reported.
The remaining two lines of enquiry focus on whether Gus was taken by a stranger from the property or if somebody familiar to him played a role in his disappearance and presumed death.
Authorities have said that the probe is focussed on individuals acquainted with Gus potentially being connected to his disappearance and suspected death.
