In a bid to crack down on the consumption and trade of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), the Karnataka Cyber Command Unit (CCU) is planning to set up a dedicated wing to monitor and investigate such offences. The wing will also look into online crimes against women.

The move follows the CCU proposing a state-of-the-art integrated command centre to strengthen the unit. Earlier, the State police relied on the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) to receive alerts on CSAM usage through the cyber tipline.
