Sources close to Charles said the latest revelations further detailing Andrew’s relationship with Epstein, were “shocking and distressing”.
King Charles is hoping to “contain” his brother in Norfolk after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor finally moved out of his Royal Lodge home. Royal sources yesterday described Andrew, as “unstable” after being at the centre of the latest shocking Jeffrey Epstein allegations.
The new claims in huge release of three million documents showed how Andrew invited the convicted paedophile and a Russian model to dinner at Buckingham Palace. The 26-year-old model identified only as “Vera” was described as “enchanting” and a “great friend” in the tranche of emails.
Last week Andrew left his long-term home in Windsor to move to Sandringham. It emerged in The Sunday Times that Charles had “accelerated” Andrew’s move.

The source said the King is determined to permanently “remove him [Andrew] from the public gaze”, having been appalled to see his brother riding in Windsor past camera crews and waving and smiling from his car.
The King, who is still receiving cancer treatment, has agreed to privately fund Andrew’s accommodation and provide him with a “modest stipend” for his living costs.
A Palace source said: “The King feels he has no other option than to take sole responsibility for his brother, who will be privately funded. Every time he’s tried to support himself by independent means, it has led to greater trouble. Containing him is the hope.”
Last Monday night Andrew moved out of the seven bedroom Royal Lodge sooner than planned and temporarily relocated to Wood Farm on the King’s Sandringham estate.
He will move permanently to Marsh Farm, a five-bedroom house nearby that is undergoing renovations, before Easter. Sources close to Charles said the latest revelations further detailing Andrew’s relationship with Epstein, were “shocking and distressing”.
A friend of the King, who was heckled about Andrew during a public engagement in Essex on Thursday, said he had expedited the move to Norfolk.
The friend said: “The King is acutely aware of the public feeling. He doesn’t need to be heckled to understand the mood of the nation. Accelerating him out of Royal Lodge last was another nod to show he gets it. “A plan made is not the same as a plan enacted, and the King wanted that plan enacted asap. The King feels that keeping his brother out of the public gaze and away from any kind of public expense, is the right thing to do.
“Andrew is no longer a burden on the public purse and the King has done all he can to remove him from the public gaze, but the reality is he can’t remove him from the public consciousness.”
Andrew, who has made no comment since the latest release of Epstein files, is under mounting pressure to testify to the US Congress about his friendships with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. It is understood the King feels it would be the correct course of action to take and royal sources have said it is “a matter for his conscience”. But it is conceded that Andrew is unlikely to speak to the authorities, and is likely to be legally advised against it, given how badly he fared under questioning for Newsnight. Details emerged last night about the mystery Russian woman who visited Buckingham Palace. She first appeared in the files when she was invited to a dinner of then President of South Africa Jacob Zuma at The Ritz London in 2010.
On March 4, Mark Lloyd, a friend of Epstein’s who helped him arrange high-profile meetings, messaged Vera telling her: “Jeffrey suggested I invite you, as you would be certain to add some real glamour.”
She responded, telling Lloyd she was “honoured”, adding: “I am from Russia and I have lived in London for the past two years. I am a model, represented by Select model agency.”
She went on to say how she had been modelling for the past six years and lived in Paris, New York, Barcelona and Japan.
The same day, further emails show Epstein bragging to disgraced peer Lord Peter Mandelson, writing: “Mark Lloyd is having dinner for Zuma tonight. I have invited a beautiful Russian.”
Days later Epstein, who killed himself in 2019 awaiting trial for sex trafficking crimes, received an email from somebody whose name is redacted saying how “charming” Vera “enchanted all those she met”.
Later that year, Epstein wrote to Andrew to introduce him to the same woman. Andrew asked him who she was, and Epstein, left, replied: “A great friend of mine.
“Very pretty. She is my future ex wife.” Hours later Andrew complained to Epstein: “No response from your future ex. I emailed her this morning but I suspect it went into her junk email.” Epstein joked: “Why? Are you spamming beautiful Russians.”
