Youth killed as bike rams metro pillar in Kochi

A 26-year-old man was killed after his two-wheeler rammed a metro pillar at Kalamassery in the early hours of Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Muhammed Musthafa, a native of Karipur in Malappuram, who was residing in Kakkanad.

Musthafa, who was running an IT start-up in Kochi with his friends, was riding back to his hometown when the accident occurred. Though he was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kalamassery, he was declared brought dead, the police said.

“Based on CCTV visuals, it is suspected that the speeding vehicle went out of control before ramming the pillar. A detailed investigation is under way,” said an officer with the Kalamassery police.
